2012 Doomsday Predictions - What Can You Do to Convince a Non-Believer?

What do you know about the doomsday predictions of 2012? Do you know enough to convince someone who is a non-believer and thinks it is a bunch of nonsense?

Those of us who do believe will inevitably encounter those who do not and be asked to "prove" or "defend" our position.

As we try to get the word out so as to enlighten and educate others, we will be confronted by our spouses, peers, co-workers and many others who tell us that we're wrong and that there is no merit to the doomsday predictions. After all, there are websites and Facebook pages that exist to bolster their arguments against the likeliness of any of the prophecies and predictions ever coming true.

The doomsday predictions of 2012 have been likened to the hype that existed in 1999 with the Y2K scare. We all know how that turned out. But what if the non-believers are wrong? How do we as "believers" convince those "doubting Thomases" we encounter?

The simple answer is knowledge. We have to educate ourselves and learn all that we can to be able to explain the concepts, facts and history to others. Research is paramount. You have to know what you are talking about in order to convince others to listen to you.

Don't get me wrong, you may never convince someone who chooses not to believe that the end of the world is near and frankly that is a little extreme. There will be those that just won't believe no matter how much information you put in front of them. Those people would rather choose to put their head in the sand than acknowledge that anything will happen as predicted on December 21, 2012. If those naysayers are your loved ones, this could be very difficult to accept.

However, fortified with the right information you can feel confident that you laid it all out there and that you put forth the effort necessary to show them the way.

The truth is naysayers exist and they live happily in ignorance. However, ignorance during these times is not bliss. Ignorance is ignorance.

Education is the key and knowledge is powerful. Knowing not only the facts that exist but also knowing what exists to refute those facts is equally important. Ultimately everyone will have to decide for themselves what the "truth" is.

I've been researching this subject for quite some time and have myself discovered many differences of opinions, facts and myths. However, through the course of my research I've come to understand and believe that knowledge and education is the key to surviving through whatever will happen.
